Viking
Ship Museum - This is the essence of Oslo
with the wonderful Viking ships and really a true
part of the heritage
of Oslo and Norway.
Some information on the museum - it is a fascinating
place to visit and gives you an insight into the early
Vikings. The Oslo museum exhibits several large Viking
ships with names like Oseberg, Gokstad and Tune. These
ships are graceful while at the same time you can
appreciate their powerfulness. as well as founds from
the chief grave at Borre in the Vestfold district,
providing a compelling history of the Vikings.
The Oslo museum of Viking Ships is rich in Viking
culture and traditions, and you will get a wonderful
feeling of life during Viking times. In this museum
you'll find displays of jewellery, also weapons and
many tools. The Oslo museum also shows off tools and
household goods removed from various Viking graves.
as well as finds from the major excavations at the
grave at Borre in the Vestfold district, so that overall
this museum gjives you a comprehensive history of
the Vikings and is one of the
more memorable museums of Oslo.
